Sukta 3

सं ग॑च्छस्व पि॒तृभिः॒ सं य॒मेने॑ष्टापू॒र्तेन॑ पर॒मे व्योऽमन्। हि॒त्वाव॒द्यं पुन॒रस्त॒मेहि॒ सं ग॑च्छतां त॒न्वाऽ सु॒वर्चाः॑

Sanskrit recitationAtharva Veda 18.3.58

sáṃ gácchasva pitṛ́bhiḥ sáṃ yaméneṣṭāpū́rtena paramé vyòman | hitvā́vadyáṃ púnar ástam éhi sáṃ gácchatāṃ tanvā̀ suvárcāḥ ||

Go thou in union with the Fathers, in union with Yama, with iṣṭa and pūrta, in the highest heaven. Leaving behind all blemish, come again unto thy home of rest: let the radiant self go forth in concord.

จงไปพร้อมกับบรรพชน จงไปพร้อมกับยมะ (Yama) พร้อมด้วยบุญแห่งพิธีบูชา (iṣṭa) และบุญแห่งการทำความดี–ทาน (pūrta) สู่เวหาสอันสูงสุด. ละทิ้งมลทินทั้งปวง แล้วกลับมายังที่พักอันสงบของเจ้าอีกครั้ง; ขอให้ตนอันรุ่งเรืองก้าวไปโดยพร้อมเพรียงกัน.
