प्र ताँ अग्निर्बभसत्तिग्मजम्भस्तपिष्ठेन शोचिषा यः सुराधाः । प्र ये मिनन्ति वरुणस्य धाम प्रिया मित्रस्य चेततो ध्रुवाणि ॥
prá tā́m̐ agnír babhasat tigmá-jambhas tápiṣṭhena śocíṣā yáḥ su-rā́dhāḥ | prá ye minánti váruṇasya dhā́ma priyā́ mitrásya cétato dhruvā́ṇi ||
கூர்மையான தாடையுடைய அக்னி, தன் தபிஷ்ட ஶோசி—மிக எரியும் ஜ்வாலையால்—அவர்கள்மேல் பளிச்சென்று எழுந்து தாக்குகிறான்; அவன் ஸுராதா—சிறந்த செயல்களில் நிறைவு பெற்றவன். வருணனின் தாமம்—ருத-நியமத்தின் வாசஸ்தலம்—என்பதைச் சிதைக்கும் அவர்களையும், மித்ரனின் பிரியமான, துருவமான, சிந்தையை விழிப்பிக்கும் ஒழுங்குகளை கலக்கும் அவர்களையும் அவன் அடக்குகிறான்.
