Sukta 10.79
प्र मातुः प्रतरं गुह्यमिच्छन्कुमारो न वीरुधः सर्पदुर्वीः । ससं न पक्वमविदच्छुचन्तं रिरिह्वांसं रिप उपस्थे अन्तः ॥
prá mātuḥ prá-taraṁ gúhyam icchán kumāró na vīrúdhaḥ sárpad urvī́ḥ | sasáṁ na pákvam ávidac chucántaṁ ririhvā́ṃsaṁ ripá upásthe ántaḥ ||
மாதா (பிரகృతి) யைவிடவும் மறைந்ததை நாடி அந்த குமாரன், கொடி போல அகன்ற வெளிகளில் ஊர்ந்து சென்றான். அவன் பக்குவமான—ஒளிரும்—தண்டை (காண்டை) கண்டான்; அது பகைவனின் உபஸ்த (மடியில்) உள்ளே நக்கிக் கொண்டிருந்தது.
