Sukta 73

Rishi: Atharvanic tradition (specific anukramaṇī attribution not supplied in input)

Devata: Sāṃmanasya (Concord) with Varuṇa, Soma, Agni, Bṛhaspati, Vasus as invoked agents

Chandas: Mixed/Anuṣṭubh-like (prose-like refrain ‘sāṃmanasyam’ plus metrical pādas)

Mantras

Mantra 1

Zgoda umysłów. Niech przybędzie tu Waruna, i Soma, Agni, Bhaspati, niech przybędzie tu z Wasami. Do pomyślności tego człowieka niech wszyscy razem się zbliżą, jednej woli, rodacy, wokół potężnego przewodnika.

Mantra 2

Jakiż wasz zapał w sercach, jaki zamiar wszedł w wasz umysł, te zszywam razem ofiarą, z masłem klarowanym: we mnie, o rodacy, niech wasza rozkosz i zgoda będzie.

Mantra 3

Zaprawdę tutaj stójcie, nie odchodźcie od nas. Niech Puszan z daleka uczyni wam ścieżkę błędu daleką; niech Wastospati, strażnik, wzywa was do powrotu. We mnie, o współplemieńcy, niech będzie wasza radość i zgoda.

Frequently Asked Questions

It is used to create unanimity and cooperation—especially among family members, clan groups, or an assembly—so they gather around a shared leader/center and do not split into factions.

The hymn frames the offering as a real binding operation: the reciter ‘stitches together’ the group’s inner impulses and intentions through havis and ghee, turning heated impulses into shared harmony.

Pūṣan removes the ‘wrong path’ (apapatha)—error, wandering, or harmful influence—while Vāstoṣpati, lord of the dwelling, keeps calling the group back so they remain anchored to the household/center.
