Sukta 2.28
मा नो वधैर्वरुण ये त इष्टावेनः कृण्वन्तमसुर भ्रीणन्ति । मा ज्योतिषः प्रवसथानि गन्म वि षू मृधः शिश्रथो जीवसे नः ॥
mā́ no vadháir varuṇa yé ta iṣṭā́v énaḥ kṛṇvántam asura bhrīṇánti | mā́ jyótiṣaḥ pra-vasáthāni ganma ví ṣū́ mṛ́dhaḥ śiśratho jīváse naḥ ||
ହେ ବରୁଣ, ଆମକୁ ବଧ-ପ୍ରହାରରେ ଆଘାତ କରନି—ହେ ଅସୁର, ଯେତେବେଳେ ତୋର ଇଷ୍ଟା/ସେବାରେ ଥିବା ଲୋକେ ଦୋଷକାରୀକୁ ଅଭିଯୋଗ କରନ୍ତି। ଆଲୋକରୁ ଦୂର ସେହି ପର ନିବାସସ୍ଥାନକୁ ଆମେ ଯାଉନାହିଁ; ଶତ୍ରୁବଳକୁ ସମ୍ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ଭାବେ ଶିଥିଳ କର, ଯେପରି ଆମେ ଜୀବିପାରିବୁ।
