When pleased, Rama bestows wealth. Like the Sun shining with his rays, He shines with his qualities of tranquil, charming and loving nature.
Prosperity becomes dharma when shared: the ruler’s joy expresses itself as generous support that wins hearts without disorder.
Encourages dāna as daily practice; contemplation of Rāma’s gentle generosity to soften the heart and reduce greed.
Dāna as purification (citta-śuddhi) and expression of non-attachment; prosperity used as instrument of dharma.
Ethic of giving and gentleness as marks of the ‘good’ (śreyas) life (broad Upaniṣadic moral tone).
Rāmacaritamānasa Ayodhyākāṇḍa (Rāma’s sweetness and generosity praised); Mahābhārata (dāna praised as royal virtue in Śānti/Anuśāsana)
Dāna-dharma in Smṛti and Itihāsa traditions
Ayodhyākāṇḍa 2.2 catalogue of virtues (immediate sequence)
Anuṣṭup (Śloka)
Joyful
Light, flowing; gentle rise on "प्रहृष्ट" and cadence on "प्रीतिसञ्जननैः"
Dharmic generosity and gentle conduct: wealth is bestowed when merited, and inner calm becomes a public blessing, like sunlight.
Continuing their eulogy, the ministers describe how Rāma rewards well and is universally loved for his peaceful virtues.
Dāna (generosity) guided by discernment, and śānti (tranquility) that wins the hearts of the people.
