ଏହି ସଂକ୍ଷିପ୍ତ ତିନି-ମନ୍ତ୍ରୀୟ ସୂକ୍ତଟି ଏକ ରକ୍ଷା-ଚିକିତ୍ସାମୟ ମନ୍ତ୍ର; ଏଥିରେ ଅଗ୍ନିଙ୍କୁ କ୍ଷତ୍ରଭୃତ୍ (ସାମ୍ରାଜ୍ୟୀୟ ରକ୍ଷାର ବହନକର୍ତ୍ତା) ଭାବେ ପ୍ରଜ୍ୱଳିତ କରି ଗୃହକୁ ଚାରିପାଖରୁ ଘେରିବା, ରୋଗକୁ ମୁକ୍ତ କରିଦେବା, ଏବଂ ପ୍ରାଣାଧାର (ଗୟ) ଓ ସମ୍ପତ୍ତିକୁ ସୁରକ୍ଷିତ କରିବାକୁ କୁହାଯାଇଛି। ପରେ ଏହା ଇନ୍ଦ୍ରଙ୍କ କ୍ଷତ୍ର ଓ ଓଜସ୍କୁ ଆହ୍ୱାନ କରି ବିରୋଧୀ ଶକ୍ତିମାନଙ୍କୁ ପ୍ରତ୍ୟାଘାତ କରିବା ଓ ବିସ୍ତୃତ, ନିରାପଦ ପରିସର ଗଢ଼ିବାକୁ ଲକ୍ଷ୍ୟ କରେ, ଶେଷରେ ଶତ୍ରୁମାନଙ୍କୁ ତୀବ୍ର ଭାବେ ହଂକାଇ ଦେବାର ଚିତ୍ରମୟ ବର୍ଣ୍ଣନାରେ ଉପସଂହାର ହୁଏ। ଏଭଳି ଅଗ୍ନିଙ୍କ ଶୁଦ୍ଧିକର ପରିଧି ଓ ଇନ୍ଦ୍ରଙ୍କ ଯୁଦ୍ଧମୟ ସଫାୟା ମିଶି ରୋଗ ଓ ଭୟରୁ ମୁକ୍ତ ଏକ ସୁରକ୍ଷିତ ଗୃହଲୋକ ସ୍ଥାପନ କରେ।

क्षत्रभृदग्निः। अ॒ना॒धृ॒ष्यो जा॒तवे॑दा॒ अम॑र्त्यो वि॒राड॑ग्ने क्षत्र॒भृद् दी॑दिही॒ह। विश्वा॒ अमी॑वाः प्रमु॒ञ्चन् मानु॑षीभिः शि॒वाभि॑र॒द्य परि॑ पाहि नो॒ गय॑म्
ଅଗ୍ନି କ୍ଷତ୍ରର ଧାରକ। ଅନାଧୃଷ୍ୟ ଜାତବେଦା, ଅମର୍ତ୍ୟ, ବିରାଟ—ହେ ଅଗ୍ନେ, କ୍ଷତ୍ରଭୃତ, ଏଠାରେ ଦୀପ୍ତ ହେଉ। ମାନୁଷୀ ଶିବ ଉପାୟରେ ସମସ୍ତ ଅମୀବାକୁ ପ୍ରମୁଞ୍ଚନ କରି, ଆଜି ଆମ ଗୃହ ଓ ସମ୍ପତ୍ତିକୁ ଚାରିଦିଗରୁ ରକ୍ଷା କର।

इन्द्र॑ क्ष॒त्रम॒भि वा॒ममोजोऽजा॑यथा वृषभ चर्षणी॒नाम्। अपा॑नुदो॒ जन॑ममित्रा॒यन्त॑मु॒रुं दे॒वेभ्यो॑ अकृणोरु लो॒कम्
ହେ ଇନ୍ଦ୍ର, ବାଞ୍ଛନୀୟ କ୍ଷତ୍ର ପାଇଁ, ଉତ୍ତମ ଓଜ ପାଇଁ ତୁମେ ଜନ୍ମ ନେଲ—ହେ ଜନମାନଙ୍କର ବୃଷଭ। ଶତ୍ରୁଭାବୀ ଜନକୁ ଅପାନୁଦନ କରି, ଦେବମାନଙ୍କ ପାଇଁ ବିଶାଳ ଓ ସୁରକ୍ଷିତ ଲୋକ ତୁମେ ଗଢ଼ିଲ।

मृ॒गो न भी॒मः कु॑च॒रो गि॑रि॒ष्ठाः प॑रा॒वत॒ आ ज॑गम्या॒त् पर॑स्याः । सृ॒कं सं॒शाय॑ प॒विमि॑न्द्र ति॒ग्मं वि शत्रू॑न् ताढि॒ वि मृघो॑ नुदस्व
ଭୟଙ୍କର ମୃଗ ପରି—ଭ୍ରମଣଶୀଳ, ପର୍ବତବାସୀ—ଦୂରରୁ, ପରଦୂର ପାରାବତର ପାର୍ଶ୍ୱରୁ ଏଠାକୁ ଆସୁ। ଜହ୍ନୁକୁ ଘସି, ହେ ଇନ୍ଦ୍ର, ତୀକ୍ଷ୍ଣ ପବିକୁ ଧାର ଦେଇ, ଶତ୍ରୁମାନଙ୍କୁ ଭାଙ୍ଗି ପ୍ରହାର କର; ମୃଗ ପରି ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ହଂକାଇ ଦୂରେ ହଟାଇ ଦେ।
