परि ष्य सुवानो अक्षा इन्दुरव्ये मदच्युतः । धारा य ऊर्ध्वो अध्वरे भ्राजा नैति गव्ययुः ॥

pári ṣyá suvāná akṣā índur avyé máda-cyutaḥ | dhā́rā yá ūrdhvó adhvaré bhrā́jā ná eti gavyayúḥ ||

पिळलेला इन्दु लोकरमधून प्रवाहित होतो; त्याचा मद (आनंद-रस) च्युत होत नाही. अध्वरात (यज्ञात) जी धारा वर उगवते, ती तेजस्वी होऊन जाते—गव्ययु, प्रकाश-गवांचा शोध घेत.
