Sukta 5
यत् पुरु॑षेण ह॒विषा॑ य॒ज्ञं दे॒वा अत॑न्वत । अस्ति॒ नु तस्मा॒दोजी॑यो॒ यद् विहव्ये॑नेजि॒रे
yát púruṣena havíṣā yajñáṃ devā́ átanvas | ásti nú tasmā́dojī́yo yád vihávyenejíre ||
When with the Puruṣa, with oblation, the Gods stretched forth the sacrifice—there is, indeed, a mightier thing than that: that they worshipped with manifold offerings.
പുരുഷനോടൊപ്പം, ഹവിഷാ (ആഹുതി)കൊണ്ട് ദേവന്മാർ യജ്ഞത്തെ വ്യാപിപ്പിച്ചപ്പോൾ—അതിലും ശക്തമായൊരു കാര്യം ഉണ്ടെന്നു തന്നെ: അവർ വിഹവ്യേന (ബഹുവിധ ആഹുതികളാൽ) ആരാധിച്ചു.
