अजीर्यताममृतानामुपेत्य जीर्यन्मर्त्यः क्वधःस्थः प्रजानन्। अभिध्यायन्वर्णरतिप्रमोदानतिदीर्घे जीविते को रमेत ॥२८॥

ajīryatām amṛtānām upetya jīryan martyaḥ kvadhaḥsthaḥ prajānan | abhidhyāyan varṇaratipramodān atidīrgha jīvite ko rameta ||

Translation

ເມື່ອໄດ້ເຂົ້າໃກ້ສະພາບທີ່ບໍ່ສູນສິ້ນຂອງຜູ້ເປັນອະມະຕະ, ມະນຸດຜູ້ຊຳຮຸ່ຍໄມ້ຈະຢືນຢູ່ບ່ອນໃດໄດ້ເມື່ອຢູ່ຂ້າງລຸ່ມ? ເມື່ອຮູ້ສິ່ງນີ້, ຜູ້ໃດຈະພໍໃຈໃນຊີວິດທີ່ຍາວນານ, ໃນຂະນະທີ່ປາຖະຫນາຄວາມສຸກຈາກຄວາມງາມ ແລະ ຄວາມຮັກ?

Having approached the imperishable state of the immortals, the mortal who decays, where could he stand below? Knowing this, who would delight in a long life, while desiring the pleasures of beauty and love?
