Sukta 1.77
यो अध्वरेषु शंतम ऋतावा होता तमू नमोभिरा कृणुध्वम् । अग्निर्यद्वेर्मर्ताय देवान्त्स चा बोधाति मनसा यजाति ॥
yo adhvaréṣu śáṃtama ṛtā́vā hótā tám ū́ námo bhir ā́ kṛṇudhvam | agnír yád vér mártāya devā́ntsá cā bódhāti mánasā yajāti ||
ಯಜ್ಞಯಾತ್ರೆಗಳಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲಾ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಶಾಂತಿದಾಯಕನಾದ, ಋತವಂತನಾದ ಹೋತೃನಾದ ಅವನನ್ನು—ನಮಸ್ಕಾರಕರ್ಮಗಳಿಂದ ನಿಮ್ಮವನಾಗಿಸಿರಿ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅಗ್ನಿ ನಿಜವಾಗಿ ಮರಣ್ಯನಿಗಾಗಿ ದೇವರನ್ನು ಆಯ್ದು (ಜಯಿಸಿ) ತರುವಾಗ, ಅವನು ಚೇತನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಜಾಗೃತಗೊಳಿಸಿ, ಮನಸ್ಸಿನಿಂದ ಯಜ್ಞವನ್ನು ನೆರವೇರಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ.
