सूर्य॑मृ॒तं तम॑सो॒ ग्राह्या॒ अधि॑ दे॒वा मुञ्च॑न्तो असृज॒न्निरेण॑सः । ए॒वाहं त्वां क्षे॑त्रि॒यान्निरृ॑त्या जामिशं॒साद् द्रु॒हो मु॑ञ्चामि॒ वरु॑णस्य॒ पाशा॑त्। अ॒ना॒गसं॒ ब्रह्म॑णा त्वा कृणोमि शि॒वे ते॒ द्यावा॑पृथि॒वी उ॒भे स्ता॑म्
sū́ryam ṛtáṃ támaso grā́hyā ádhi devā́ muñcánto asṛ́jann nír éṇasaḥ | evā́háṃ tvāṃ kṣétriyān nír ṛtyā́ jāmiśaṃsā́d druhó muñcāmi váruṇasya pā́śāt | anā́gasaṃ bráhmaṇā tvā kṛṇomi śivé te dyā́vā-pṛthivī ubhé stā́m
The Sun, the Right, from darkness—seizable—thereon: the Gods, releasing, cast him forth from sin. Even so do I release thee from kṣetriya, from Nirṛti, from the curse of kindred, from treachery; I loose thee from Varuṇa’s noose. Guiltless by sacred spell I make thee: for thee may Heaven and Earth, both, stand gracious.
ಸೂರ್ಯನು—ಋತ (ಸತ್ಯ-ನಿಯಮ)ವನ್ನು—ಕತ್ತಲಿನಿಂದ ಹಿಡಿಯಬಹುದಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿ—ಅದರ ಮೇಲೆ ದೇವರುಗಳು ಬಿಡುಗಡೆಮಾಡುತ್ತಾ ಅವನನ್ನು ಪಾಪದಿಂದ ಹೊರಗೆ ತಳ್ಳಿದರು. ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಿಯದಿಂದ, ನಿರೃತಿಯಿಂದ, ಬಂಧುಜನರ ಶಾಪ/ಆರೋಪದಿಂದ, ದ್ರೋಹದಿಂದ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತೇನೆ; ವರುಣನ ಪಾಶದಿಂದ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಬಿಡಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ. ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಮಂತ್ರದಿಂದ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ನಿರ್ದೋಷನಾಗಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ; ನಿನಗಾಗಿ ದ್ಯಾವಾ-ಪೃಥಿವೀ—ಎರಡೂ—ಶಿವವಾಗಿರಲಿ.
