Varāha (default dialogue framework; speaker not explicit in fragment)
It reflects a common Purāṇic narrative pattern where cosmic figures (here, the Moon) undergo affliction and restoration, framing ritual observance (vrata) as a culturally transmitted means of ethical discipline and symbolic renewal.
No specific geographic location is named in this verse fragment; it focuses on a mythic-cosmic episode involving the Moon and Dakṣa.
The verse presents vrata (disciplined observance) as a means of restoring balance and well-being, expressed through the motif of regaining kānti (radiance) after affliction.
