This short hymn celebrates the pressed Soma (Indu) as a living, rushing power offered to an “immortal” recipient—explicitly culminating in Indra—who is strengthened and made victorious by it. Soma is portrayed as swift like a steed, life-sustaining and discerning (dakṣa), and as a treasure once brought from the far beyond by the Suparṇa/Śyena motif. The hymn’s purpose is to consecrate Soma as the force that enlarges vitality, will (kratu), and divine triumph.

अयं हि ते अमर्त्य इन्दुरत्यो न पत्यते । दक्षो विश्वायुर्वेधसे ॥
यह सोम रस तुम्हारे लिए है, तुम अमर हो। यह रस आगे बढ़ रहा है, जैसे तेज़ घोड़ा दौड़ता है। यह सब जानता है, सबको जिंदा रखता है। यह रिशियों के काम के लिए है।

अयमस्मासु काव्य ऋभुर्वज्रो दास्वते । अयं बिभर्त्यूर्ध्वकृशनं मदमृभुर्न कृत्व्यं मदम् ॥
यह ऋभु शक्ति हमारे अंदर बिजली की तरह काम करती है। जो देनेवाला है उसके लिए यह एक वरदान है। यह शक्ति ऊपर की तरफ ले जाती है, एक खुशी जो असली है। यह ऋभु की खुशी है, जो बनाई गई नहीं है।

घृषुः श्येनाय कृत्वन आसु स्वासु वंसगः । अव दीधेदहीशुवः ॥
वो जोश में आके बाज़ बन गया काम के लिए। अपनी तेज़ गति में उसने नीचे गिरा दिए साँप मारनेवालों को। वो उनको दूर कर देता है।

यं सुपर्णः परावतः श्येनस्य पुत्र आभरत् । शतचक्रं योऽह्यो वर्तनिः ॥
वो चीज़ जो चमकदार पंखों वाले ने लाई दूर से। वो बाज़ का बेटा है। यह शक्ति सौ पहिये वाली है, जो रास्ता साँप की शक्ति से तेज़ है।

यं ते श्येनश्चारुमवृकं पदाभरदरुणं मानमन्धसः । एना वयो वि तार्यायुर्जीवस एना जागार बन्धुता ॥
बाज़ ने तुम्हारे लिए वो लाया अपने कदमों से। वो सुंदर है, बुरा नहीं, एक लाल रंग का माप जो खुशी देता है। इससे ज़िन्दगी की शक्तियाँ पार हो जाती हैं। इससे उम्र बढ़ती है जीने के लिए। इससे रिश्ते जाग उठते हैं।

एवा तदिन्द्र इन्दुना देवेषु चिद्धारयाते महि त्यजः । क्रत्वा वयो वि तार्यायुः सुक्रतो क्रत्वायमस्मदा सुतः ॥
ऐसे ही इंद्र सोम के ड्रॉप से वो बड़ी जीत की शक्ति पकड़े हुए है भगवानों में भी। अपनी इच्छा से वो ज़िन्दगी की शक्तियाँ पार ले जाता है और उम्र बढ़ाता है। हे इच्छा में परफेक्ट, अपनी इच्छा से यह सोम हमारे पास आता है।
