Sukta 1.184
Agastya (traditional for RV 1.184)
Jagatī (probable; verify by metrical count)
This hymn calls the Aśvinau (Nāsatyā), the divine twins, to arrive at dawn along the “god-traveling” paths and bring their honeyed gifts of help, healing, and prosperity. The poet repeatedly invokes them “again and again,” seeking safe passage beyond darkness and obstruction into plenitude, vigor, and good fortune for the worshippers.
Mantra 1
Mantra 2
Mantra 3
Mantra 4
Mantra 5
Mantra 6
An urgent, repeated summons to the Aśvins at the dawning of Uṣas, carried by the “flaming bearer” (Agni) through hymns.
The poet asks for generous, sweet gifts and for the hymn of the worthy singer to be propelled; the Aśvins’ fame is presented as a cause of communal joy and increased heroic power.
A decisive turning: the worshippers declare they have crossed to the far shore beyond darkness, and the stoma is firmly set before the Aśvins as a response-worthy act.
A final invitation to come by the devayāna paths so that the community may obtain plenitude, clear obstruction, and receive swift-giving aid.

They are the divine twin gods known for swift rescue, healing, and timely help—especially at dawn—who come quickly when invoked with praise and offerings.
Dawn marks the transition from darkness to light, a fitting time to invite the Aśvins, who are linked with renewal, safe movement, and the opening of the day’s path.
It can mean both a literal passing through danger or hardship and an inner shift from confusion and blockage to clarity, energy, and renewed capacity—achieved through divine aid and right invocation.
