Sukta 2.28
तव व्रते सुभगासः स्याम स्वाध्यो वरुण तुष्टुवांसः । उपायन उषसां गोमतीनामग्नयो न जरमाणा अनु द्यून् ॥
táva vraté su-bhágāsaḥ syāma svā́dhyo varuṇa tuṣṭuvā́ṃsaḥ | upā́yana uṣásāṃ gó-matīnām agnáyo ná jaramāṇā ánu dyū́n ||
હે વરુણ, તારા વ્રતમાં અમે સુભાગી બનીએ; સ્વાધ્યાયી—પોતાની શિસ્તમાં સ્થિર—થઈ તારી સ્તુતિ કરીએ. ગોમતી ઉષાઓ—કિરણોથી સમૃદ્ધ પ્રભાતો—ની પાસે અમે ઉપાયન કરીએ; અને અજર અગ્નિઓની જેમ આત્મામાં વૃદ્ધ ન થતાં દિવસોનું અનુસરણ કરીએ.
