Frequently Asked Questions

For prosperity and nourishment—especially to increase milk-products (milk, curds/clotted milk, ghee) and to stabilize household wealth through consecration and protected offering.

Because the rite depends on many hands; the mantra ritually binds the human agents to protection, preventing impurity, mishap, or harmful intent from disrupting the offering’s benefit.

It functions as consecration (abhiṣiñcana): the spoken wish is ‘set’ into the participants/implements so it comes to completion, culminating in the hymn’s goal of becoming ‘lords of riches’.
