अग्निर्न यो वन आ सृज्यमानो वृथा पाजांसि कृणुते नदीषु । जनो न युध्वा महत उपब्दिरियर्ति सोमः पवमान ऊर्मिम् ॥
agnír na yó vána ā́ sṛjyámāno vṛ́thā pā́jāṃsi kṛṇute nadī́ṣu | jáno na yúdhvā maháta úpabdir íyarti sómaḥ pávamāna ū́rmim ||
Wie Agni, in den Wald entlassen, wirkt er nicht vergebens: an den Flüssen lässt er seine Kräfte auflodern. Wie ein kämpfendes Volk mit mächtigem Brausen treibt Soma, sich läuternd, die Woge voran — den herandrängenden Schwall der Kraft.
