Viṣṇu, Tvaṣṭṛ, Prajāpati, Dhātṛ (collective generative powers)
RV 10.184 ist ein kurzer, doch kraftvoller Zeugungshymnus, der mehrere göttliche Werkmeister der Schöpfung anruft, um eine Schwangerschaft zu begründen und zu schützen. Er bittet Viṣṇu, den „Mutterschoß zu bereiten“, Tvaṣṭṛ, die Gestalt zu formen, Prajāpati und Dhātṛ, den Embryo zu beleben und einzusetzen; sodann werden Sinīvālī, Sarasvatī und die Aśvins angerufen, die Empfängnis zu sichern und das Kind bis zur vollendeten Geburt im zehnten Monat zu geleiten.

विष्णुर्योनिं कल्पयतु त्वष्टा रूपाणि पिंशतु । आ सिञ्चतु प्रजापतिर्धाता गर्भं दधातु ते ॥
Vishnu bereite den Schoß der Weite; Tvaṣṭṛ forme die Gestalten. Prajāpati gieße die Lebenskraft ein; Dhātṛ lege dir den Keim ein.
Mantra 2
गर्भं धेहि सिनीवालि गर्भं धेहि सरस्वति । गर्भं ते अश्विनौ देवावा धत्तां पुष्करस्रजा ॥
Lege den Keim ein, o Sinīvālī; lege den Keim ein, o Sarasvatī. Die beiden Aśvins, die göttlichen, mögen dir diesen Keim einsetzen – mit dem Lotuskranz geschmückt –, damit die innere Geburt gefestigt sei.
Mantra 3
हिरण्ययी अरणी यं निर्मन्थतो अश्विना । तं ते गर्भं हवामहे दशमे मासि सूतवे ॥
Die goldene Araṇī, die die Aśvins durch Reiben hervorquirlen – eben diesen Keim rufen wir an: dass er im zehnten Monat zur Geburt komme.
