يحفظ هذا النشيد الوجيز لإندرا سلامةَ الشعيرة إذ يدعو المُضحّين إلى «رؤية نصيب إندرا» وضمان وصوله إليه على الهيئة الصحيحة. وهو يُصلح ما يقع في الإعداد من نقص (قربانٌ مطهوٌّ جيدًا في مقابل قربانٍ سيّئ الطهي) بتوجيه موقفٍ تقويميّ في التقدمة يظلّ مُرضيًا لإندرا. ومع توقيته عند انعطاف الشمس وقت الظهيرة، يختتم بدعوة إندرا فَجرِن (صاحب الصاعقة) ليشرب خَثارة عصر الظهيرة، فيؤمّن الرخاء وحماية الماشية ونجاح الطقس باتّساقه مع ṛta (النظام القويم).

इन्द्रः। उत् ति॑ष्ठ॒ताव॑ पश्य॒तेन्द्र॑स्य भा॒गमृ॒त्विय॑म्। यदि॑ श्रा॒तं॑ जु॒होत॑न॒ यद्यश्रा॑तं म॒मत्त॑न
انهضوا؛ انظروا إلى الأمام وتأمّلوا نصيبَ إندرا—النصيبَ الذي هو من شأن الطقس (ṛtviyam). إن كنتم تُقرّبون القربان (havis) المطهوَّ جيدًا (śrātam) فقرّبوه؛ وإن كان غيرَ تامّ الطهي (aśrātam) فأفرِحوه به.

श्रा॒तं ह॒विरो ष्वि॑न्द्र॒ प्र या॑हि ज॒गाम॒ सूरो॒ अध्व॑नो॒ वि मध्य॑म्। परि॑ त्वासते नि॒धिभिः॒ सखा॑यः कुल॒पा न व्रा॑जप॒तिं चर॑न्तम्
إلى القربان المطهوّ جيدًا (śrātam)—يا إندرا—تقدَّمْ نحوه؛ فقد بلغَ سُوريا (الشمس) وسطَ مساره. وحولك يجلسُ رفاقُك بما لديهم من الكنوز (nidhi)، كحُرّاس العشيرة (kulapā) حولَ سيّد حظيرة الماشية (vrājapati) وهو يروح ويغدو.

श्रा॒तं म॑न्य॒ ऊध॑नि श्रा॒तम॒ग्नौ सुशृ॑तं मन्ये॒ तदृ॒तं नवी॑यः । माध्य॑न्दिनस्य॒ सव॑नस्य द॒ध्नः पिबे॑न्द्र वज्रिन् पुरु॒कृज्जु॑षा॒णः
أراه مطهوًّا جيدًا في الضرع؛ ومطهوًّا جيدًا في النار، مُهَيَّأً بإحكام—وأحسبُ ذلك هو الـṛta، النظام الحقّ الأحدث. اشربْ، يا إندرا حاملَ الصاعقة (vajra)، من خَثارة اللبن (dadhi) لعَصرةِ منتصف النهار (mādhyandina-savana)، مُستمتعًا—يا كثيرَ الأعمال.
