هذا النشيد الوجيز لأبامارغا تعويذةٌ مكثّفة لردّ اللعنة والتطهير: تُخاطَب النبتة بوصفها قوةً حيّة للتنقية الأخلاقية تطرد اللعنات المعادية و«الدَّنَس» الباطني (śamala). وعبر ثلاثة أبيات على وزن الأنوشتوب، يُسأَل أبامارغا أن يطرد اللعنات الخارجية، وأن يغسل آثام المرء نفسه، وأن يزيل التلوّث المكتسَب من المخالطة لعوامل خطرة مُقيِّدة.

दुरितनाशनम्। प्र॒ती॒चीन॑फलो॒ हि त्वमपा॑मार्ग रु॒रोहि॑थ । सर्वा॒न् मच्छ॒पथाँ अधि॒ वरी॑यो यावया इ॒तः
أنتَ ذو ثمرٍ إلى الخلف، يا أپامارغا، وأنتَ تنبتُ صاعدًا. فاطردْ من هنا، كالأقوى والأفضل، جميعَ اللعناتِ المصوَّبةِ نحوي.

यद् दु॑ष्कृ॒तं यच्छम॑लं॒ यद् वा चेरि॒म पा॒पया॑ । त्वया॒ तद् वि॑श्वतोमु॒खापा॑मा॒र्गाप॑ मृज्महे
ما ارتكبناه من سوء، وما كان من دَنَس، أو ما مارسناه على وجهٍ شرير—بك أنتَ، يا أپامارغا ذو الوجوه المتجهة إلى كلِّ ناحية، نُطهِّرُ أنفسَنا منه تطهيرًا تامًّا.
