यत्पाकत्रा मनसा दीनदक्षा न यज्ञस्य मन्वते मर्त्यासः । अग्निष्टद्धोता क्रतुविद्विजानन्यजिष्ठो देवाँ ऋतुशो यजाति ॥
Transliteration
yát pā́ka-trā mánasā dī́na-dakṣā́ ná yajñásya manvaté mártyāsaḥ | agníṣ tád hótā kratu-víd vi-jā́nan yájiṣṭho devā́ṁ ṛtu-śó yájāti ||
Translation
当凡人心智稚拙、能力羸弱，不能真正领会祭祀（yajña）之意时；阿耆尼为祭官Hotṛ——洞悉意向（kratu）者——明了其义，最善于奉献，便依合宜的时序（ṛtu）向诸神行祭。
