Sukta 33
ūrúbhyā́m te aṣṭhīvádbhyā́m pārṣṇíbhyā́m prápadā́bhyām | yákṣmaṁ bhasadyàṁ śróṇibhyā́m bhā́sadaṁ bháṁsaso ví vṛhāmi te
From thy thighs, from thy bony members, from thy heels, from thy fore-feet; the yakṣma, seated in the rump— from the hips, seated in the buttock-seat, from the buttocks—apart from thee I tear it out.
Rishi: Atharvanic tradition (yakṣma-bhaiṣajya cycle; specific r̥ṣi attribution varies by anukramaṇī traditions)
Devata: Yakṣma (as the affliction/demonic agent) and implicitly the healing power of Atharvanic speech
Chandas: Anuṣṭubh (predominant in AV healing verses; this mantra conforms to the style though exact metrical scansion may be irregular)
Primary: vira
Secondary: shanta
