Sukta 9.86
ज्योतिर्यज्ञस्य पवते मधु प्रियं पिता देवानां जनिता विभूवसुः । दधाति रत्नं स्वधयोरपीच्यं मदिन्तमो मत्सर इन्द्रियो रसः ॥
jyótir yajñásya pavate mádhu priyáṃ pitā́ devā́nāṃ janitā́ vibhū́vasuḥ | dádhāti rátnaṃ svadháyor apī́cyaṃ madíntamo matsará indríyo rásaḥ ||
The light of the sacrifice flows—honey-delight, beloved; father and begetter of the gods, rich in wide shining. He places the precious jewel hidden in the two self-laws: most intoxicating, the rapturous, Indra-strengthening essence of taste—delight that empowers the will to conquer darkness.
