Sukta 9.5

Devata: Soma Pavamāna (addressed); secondary figure Vanaspati

वनस्पतिं पवमान मध्वा समङ्ग्धि धारया । सहस्रवल्शं हरितं भ्राजमानं हिरण्ययम् ॥

vánaspátiṃ pavamāna mádhvā sámaṅgdhi dhā́rayā | sahásra-valśaṃ háritaṃ bhrā́jamānaṃ hiraṇyáyam ||

O self-purifying Soma, anoint the Lord of the forest with the stream of sweetness—him of a thousand shoots, tawny and radiant, golden with light; so may the growth of life be filled with delight and made luminous.
