Sukta 10.142
उत वा उ परि वृणक्षि बप्सद्बहोरग्न उलपस्य स्वधावः । उत खिल्या उर्वराणां भवन्ति मा ते हेतिं तविषीं चुक्रुधाम ॥
utá vā ú páry vṛṇakṣi bápsad bahór agna úlapasya svadhāvaḥ | utá khilyā́ urvárāṇāṃ bhavanti mā́ te hetíṃ taviṣī́ṃ cukrudhāma ||
اے اگنی، تو وسیع فضا پر بیٹھے، اپنے قانون والے، گھیرتا اور اپنا راستہ چنتا ہے؛ اور بنجر زمینیں زرخیز کھیتیاں بن جاتی ہیں۔ ہم تیرا ہتھیار، تیری شدید قوت نہ بیدار کریں؛ بلکہ تیری توانائی ہماری ترقی میں بدل جائے۔
