Varāha (default speaker per dialogue framework; not explicit in the fragment)
It preserves a Purāṇic cosmographic convention of describing major mountain systems with standardized numerical extents, useful for comparative study of ancient Indian geographical imagination and textual cartography.
Hemakūṭa and Himavān are named mountain regions in Purāṇic geography; Himavān is commonly correlated in scholarship with the Himalayan range, while Hemakūṭa is treated as a mytho-geographic mountain associated with the broader Himālaya–Meru cosmological schema.
The verse is primarily descriptive rather than prescriptive; its philosophical function is to situate human and sacred landscapes within a larger cosmological order, supporting cultural-heritage awareness of named natural features.
