मार्गशीर्षे सिते पक्षे प्रतिपद्यां तिथिर्भवेत् । तस्यां नक्तं प्रकुर्वीत विष्णुमग्निं प्रपूजयेत् ॥ ५६.२ ॥
mārgaśīrṣe site pakṣe pratipadyāṃ tithir bhavet | tasyāṃ naktaṃ prakurvīta viṣṇum agniṃ prapūjayet || 56.2 ||
ในเดือนมารคศีรษะ เมื่อถึงวันปรติปทาในปักษ์สว่าง ในวันนั้นพึงถือนกตพรต (อดอาหารกลางวัน รับประทานยามค่ำ) และบูชาพระวิษณุและพระอัคนีโดยถูกต้องตามพิธี
