कथयिष्यामि ते ह्येवं श्राद्धोत्पत्तिविनिश्चयम् ॥ आदौ स्वर्गस्य चोत्पत्तिं देवानां च वरानने ॥

kathayiṣyāmi te hy evaṁ śrāddhotpatti-viniścayam || ādau svargasya cotpattiṁ devānāṁ ca varānane ||

ดังนี้เราจักอธิบายแก่เจ้าโดยแน่ชัดถึงกำเนิดแห่งศราทธะ ก่อนอื่น โอ้ผู้มีพักตร์งาม เราจักกล่าวถึงการบังเกิดของสวรรค์และเหล่าเทวะ
