Determination of the Origin and Procedure of the Ancestral Offering
Pitṛyajña/Śrāddha
धिग्वयो धिक्च मे कर्म धिग्बलं धिक्च जीवितम् ॥ पुत्रं सर्वसुखैर्युक्तं जीवितं हि न दृश्यते ॥
dhigvayo dhik ca me karma dhigbalaṃ dhik ca jīvitam || putraṃ sarvasukhairyuktaṃ jīvitaṃ hi na dṛśyate ||
“น่าติเตียนชะตา; น่าติเตียนกรรมของเรา; น่าติเตียนกำลัง; และน่าติเตียนชีวิตนี้ เพราะชีวิตที่ประกอบด้วยสุขทั้งปวง—คือบุตร—หาได้ปรากฏแก่เราไม่”
