Amritnada Upanishad 13: Verse 13
वक्त्रेणोत्पलनालेन तोयमाकर्षयेन्नरः । एवं वायुर्ग्रहीतव्यः पूरकस्येति लक्षणम् ॥१३॥
वक्त्रेण । उत्पल-नालेन । तोयम् । आकर्षयेत् । नरः । एवम् । वायुः । ग्रहीतव्यः । पूरकस्य । इति । लक्षणम् ॥
vaktreṇotpalanālena toyam ākarṣayen naraḥ | evaṃ vāyur grahītavyaḥ pūrakasye ti lakṣaṇam ||13||
ดุจคนดูดน้ำด้วยปากผ่านก้านบัว ฉันใด พึงดึงลมเข้าไปฉันนั้น—นี่คือเครื่องหมายของปูรกะ (การหายใจเข้า).
As a man draws water (up) with the mouth through a lotus-stalk, so should air be drawn in; this is the characteristic of inhalation (pūraka).
