Outer meaning

Come—here are the keen Somadrinks, pressed out and eager to intoxicate; drink as the holder of the foundation, for your luminous satisfaction.

Inner meaning

Soma is the ananda-substance distilled by aspiration and discipline (sutāsaḥ). ‘Tīvrāḥ’ indicates concentrated potency: bliss that is sharp enough to cut through inertia. Indra is invited to drink—meaning the illumined Mind is to take up and be strengthened by this ananda, becoming more capable to hold the foundations (dadhṛk) of the inner world-order and to act in luminous satisfaction (ociṣe).

Universal truth

When delight is purified and concentrated, it strengthens the mind’s capacity to uphold life on a stable basis; true ‘intoxication’ is uplift into luminous joy, not loss of control.

Themes

Soma-invitation, ecstasy-and-power, illumined-satisfaction
