Outer meaning

He advances, O Agni, by your helps that bring good heroes; he crosses beyond by forces that bear plenitude (vājabharmā), he whose friendship you have accepted and protected.

Inner meaning

When the inner Fire supports the seeker, progress becomes unstoppable: Agni’s ‘helps’ are powers that create heroic capacities (suvīra—strong, victorious energies of the soul). The aspirant ‘overpasses’ obstacles by vājabharmā—carriers of plenitude-force (vāja as dynamic fullness, not mere food). The key condition is sakhyam: a living friendship with Agni—constant intimacy with the divine will—accepted and ‘covered’ (āvaraḥ) by protection, i.e., held within a safeguarding luminous field against adverse forces.

Universal truth

Spiritual advance depends on sustained alliance with the higher will; then strength and abundance of means arise, and one surpasses barriers that otherwise appear fixed.

Themes

victory through divine help, inner battle and passage, divine friendship
