Sukta 8.11
प्रत्नो हि कमीड्यो अध्वरेषु सनाच्च होता नव्यश्च सत्सि । स्वां चाग्ने तन्वं पिप्रयस्वास्मभ्यं च सौभगमा यजस्व ॥
pratnó hí kam ī́ḍyo adhvaréṣu sanā́c ca hótā návyaś ca sátsi | svā́ṃ cā́gne tanvàm pipráyasvāsmábhyaṃ ca saúbhagam ā́ yajasva ||
โอ อัคนี ท่านเป็นผู้โบราณแท้จริง และยังเป็นผู้ควรถูกอัญเชิญอยู่เสมอในพิธีบูชา (adhvara); ท่านประทับเป็นโหตฤ (hotṛ, ปุโรหิตผู้สวดเชิญ) มาแต่กาลก่อน และยังประทับในฐานะผู้ใหม่อยู่เสมอ. โอ อัคนี จงบำรุงและทำให้เต็มเปี่ยมซึ่งพลังอันมีรูปกายของท่านไว้ภายในเรา และด้วยการบูชาของท่าน จงนำความเป็นสิริมงคลแห่งโชคดีอันสว่างไสว (saubhaga) มาสู่เรา
