यदग्ने कानि कानि चिदा ते दारूणि दध्मसि । ता जुषस्व यविष्ठ्य ॥

yád agne kā́ni kā́ni cidā́ te dā́rūṇi dádhmasi | tā́ juṣasva yáviṣṭhya ||

โอ อัคนี ไม่ว่าเราจะใส่ฟืนชนิดใด—แม้เพียงเศษเล็กน้อย—ลงในท่าน; ขอท่านจงรับไว้ด้วยความยินดี โอผู้เยาว์ที่สุด (yaviṣṭhya) ผู้เกิดใหม่เสมอ จงรับวัสดุอันไม่สมบูรณ์ของเรา แล้วทำให้เหมาะแก่เปลวไฟแห่งความงอกงาม.
