Sukta 7.83
वृत्राण्यन्यः समिथेषु जिघ्नते व्रतान्यन्यो अभि रक्षते सदा । हवामहे वां वृषणा सुवृक्तिभिरस्मे इन्द्रावरुणा शर्म यच्छतम् ॥
vṛtrā́ṇy anyáḥ samithéṣu jíghnate vratā́ny anyó abhí rakṣate sádā | havā́mahe vāṃ vṛṣaṇā suvṛ́ktibhir asmé indrāvaruṇā śárma yacchatam ||
ท่านทั้งสององค์ หนึ่งองค์ทรงฟาดฟันม่านกำบังแห่งวฤตระ (Vṛtra) ในศึกสงคราม; อีกองค์ทรงพิทักษ์วรตะ—กฎสัตย์อันนิรันดร์แห่งการกระทำอันชอบ—อยู่เสมอ. เราขออัญเชิญท่านทั้งสอง ผู้ทรงพลัง ด้วยถ้อยคำอันร้อยเรียงดีแล้ว—อินทระและวรุณะ โปรดประทานความร่มเย็นและที่พึ่งคุ้มครองแก่เรา.
