समु वां यज्ञं महयं नमोभिर्हुवे वां मित्रावरुणा सबाधः । प्र वां मन्मान्यृचसे नवानि कृतानि ब्रह्म जुजुषन्निमानि ॥

sám u vāṃ yajñáṃ mahayaṃ námo-bhir huvé vāṃ mitrā́varuṇā sa-bā́dhaḥ | prá vāṃ mánmāny ṛcáse návāni kṛtā́ni bráhma jujuṣann imā́ni ||

ข้าพเจ้าทำให้ยัญญะ (yajña) ของท่านเจริญด้วยการนอบน้อมสักการะ; ข้าพเจ้าขอเชิญท่าน มิตรและวรุณะ ด้วยแรงปรารถนาอันไม่แตกแยก (sabādha). ข้าพเจ้าวางไว้เบื้องหน้าสำหรับบทสรรเสริญของท่านซึ่งถ้อยคำและความคิดรูปใหม่เหล่านี้; ขอท่านจงรับมัน—พรหมวาจา (brahman) ที่เรากระทำสำเร็จ—คือมนตระเหล่านี้.
