Sukta 4.24
तमिन्नरो वि ह्वयन्ते समीके रिरिक्वांसस्तन्वः कृण्वत त्राम् । मिथो यत्त्यागमुभयासो अग्मन्नरस्तोकस्य तनयस्य सातौ ॥
tám ín naró ví hvayante samīké ririkvā́ṃsas tanvàḥ kṛṇvata trā́m | mithó yát tyā́gam ubhā́yāso ágmān narás tokásya tánayasya sātáu ||
แท้จริงแล้ว ในยามเผชิญหน้า มนุษย์ทั้งหลายย่อมร้องเรียกท่าน; ผู้มุ่งมั่นแข็งแรงทำกายของตนให้เป็นที่คุ้มครอง. เมื่อหันประจันกัน ทั้งสองฝ่ายมาถึงคราวแห่ง “การสละทิ้ง/การเสี่ยงทิ้ง” อันเป็นวิกฤต คนทั้งหลาย (อัญเชิญท่าน) เพื่อชัยชนะในการได้บุตรน้อยและวงศ์วาน—เพื่อความสืบต่อแห่งสายวิญญาณ.
