Sukta 10.95

Transliteration

purūravo mā mṛthā mā prá papto mā tvā vṛkāso aśivāsa u kṣan | na vai straiṇāni sakhyāni santi sālāvṛkāṇāṁ hṛdayāny etā ||

Translation

โอ้ ปุรุรวัส อย่าพินาศ อย่าล้มพุ่งไปสู่ความฉิบหาย; ขออย่าให้หมาป่าผู้เป็นอัปมงคล—แรงผลักแห่งความเป็นศัตรู—ฉีกเจ้าทำลาย. เพราะมิตรภาพที่เป็นเพียง ‘ภายนอก’ หาได้ยั่งยืนไม่; นั่นแลคือดวงใจของสาลาวฤกะ—ผู้ดูเหมือนมิตรแต่ภายในเป็นผู้ล่า.
