Sukta 10.88
यो होतासीत्प्रथमो देवजुष्टो यं समाञ्जन्नाज्येना वृणानाः । स पतत्रीत्वरं स्था जगद्यच्छ्वात्रमग्निरकृणोज्जातवेदाः ॥
yo hotāsīt prathamo devajuṣṭo yaṃ samāñjann ājyena vṛṇānāḥ | sa patatrī tv araṃ sthā jagad yac chvātram agnir akṛṇoj jātavedāḥ ||
ท่านนั้นคือโหตฤ (hotṛ) ผู้เป็นปุโรหิตแห่งการบูชาคนแรก เป็นที่โปรดปรานของเหล่าเทพ; เหล่าเทพเลือกท่านแล้วเจิมด้วยอาชยะ (ājya) คือเนยใส. แล้วท่านยืนขึ้นเป็นผู้เคลื่อนไหวมีปีก ว่องไวต่อกิจ; เมื่ออัคนี—ชาตเวทัส (Jātavedas) ผู้รู้กำเนิดทั้งปวง—ได้ทำให้โลกเป็นที่อยู่อาศัยอันเหมาะแก่การเดินทางอันสว่างไสว
