ऐच्छाम त्वा बहुधा जातवेदः प्रविष्टमग्ने अप्स्वोषधीषु । तं त्वा यमो अचिकेच्चित्रभानो दशान्तरुष्यादतिरोचमानम् ॥
áicchām tvā bahudhā́ jātavedā́ḥ práviṣṭam agne apsv òṣadhīṣu | táṃ tvā yámo aciket citrabhāno daśāntaruṣyā́d atirócamānam ||
ข้าแสวงหาเจ้าด้วยหนทางนานาประการ โอ ชาตเวทัส (ผู้รู้กำเนิดทั้งปวง); อัคนีเอ๋ย เจ้าผู้แทรกซึมเข้าไปในสายน้ำ และในพืชและสมุนไพรทั้งหลาย. เจ้า—ผู้มีเปลวเพลิงมาก ผู้รุ่งเรืองหลากสี—ยมะได้รู้จัก; เจ้าส่องประกายล้ำพ้นเขตแดนทั้งสิบ และเหนือกว่าด้วยรัศมีของตน.
