Sukta 10.10
न यत्पुरा चकृमा कद्ध नूनमृता वदन्तो अनृतं रपेम । गन्धर्वो अप्स्वप्या च योषा सा नो नाभिः परमं जामि तन्नौ ॥
ná yát purā́ cakṛmá kád dha nūnám ṛtā́ vádanto ánṛtaṃ rapema | gandharvó apsv ápyā́ ca yóṣā sā́ no nā́bhiḥ paramáṃ jā́mi tán nau ||
หากเราทั้งสองเคยกระทำเช่นนั้นมาแต่ก่อน ไฉนบัดนี้—ทั้งที่กล่าวความจริง—เราจักตกลงสู่ความเท็จเล่า? คันธรรพะ (Gandharva) ผู้สถิตในน้ำนั้น และนางสาวแห่งน้ำนั้น: นางคือสะดือของเรา คือเครือญาติอันสูงสุดของเรา—นี่แลคือสายผูกพันระหว่างเรา.
