Sukta 1.85
ऊर्ध्वं नुनुद्रेऽवतं त ओजसा दादृहाणं चिद्बिभिदुर्वि पर्वतम् । धमन्तो वाणं मरुतः सुदानवो मदे सोमस्य रण्यानि चक्रिरे ॥
ūrdhváṃ nunudre ’vatáṃ te ójasā dādṛhāṇáṃ cid bibhidur ví párvatam | dhámanto vāṇáṃ marútaḥ sudā́navo máde sómasya raṇyā́ni cakrire ||
พวกเขาด้วยพละกำลังของตน ขับไล่แรงที่กดลงให้พุ่งขึ้นเบื้องบน; แม้ภูผาที่ตั้งมั่นก็ยังถูกผ่าแยกออก. เหล่ามารุต (Maruts) ผู้เอื้อเฟื้อ เป่าลมแห่งเสียงโห่ร้อง; ในความปีติเมาแห่งโสมะ (Soma) พวกเขาก่อรูปความรื่นรมย์และความชื่นบานแห่งศึก—พลังที่เริงระบำในสงครามอันชอบธรรม.
