Listener

Bharadwaja

Sakhya (with a strong undertone of Shanta through discipline and reverence)

The prasanga

Bala-kanda depiction of Rama’s boyhood conduct—forest excursions framed as regulated sport, scriptural formation, filial reverence, and early civic responsibility that delights Dasharatha.

Themes

For right living (Ramrajya ethics)

Public happiness as the ruler’s aim; obedience to legitimate authority (parents/guru); governance as service; education and self-restraint as prerequisites for power; welfare-oriented administration (‘pura kājā’) rooted in dharma.

Nirguna and saguna

The verses present the Saguna Rama as the concrete agent of liberation (even animals ‘attain’), while the repeated stress on Veda-Purana listening and inner intention (‘jiyँ jānī’) gestures to the Nirguna truth accessed through purified mind; the formless is approached through the formed, ethical, and scripturally informed life.

FAQs
