Thereafter that great sage Trijata along with his wife, immensely happy to receive multitudes of cows, pronounced blessings on the magnanimous Rama for glory, power, pleasure and prosperity.
Right giving to worthy recipients returns as āśīrvāda—social and spiritual prosperity that strengthens dharma and reputation.
Supports go-dāna/charity as devotional practice; receiving blessings with humility completes the circuit of giving.
Giving and blessing as mutual purification: outward exchange mirrors inner increase of sattva and auspiciousness.
Benediction as 'śānti' impulse—well-being expanding through right action (general echo).
Mahābhārata: cow-gifts (go-dāna) followed by ṛṣi-āśīrvāda (thematic parallel); Purāṇas: go-dāna praised as highly meritorious (thematic parallel)
Vedic/Smṛti valuation of go-dāna and brāhmaṇa-āśīrvāda as auspicious
Vālmīki Rāmāyaṇa: repeated pattern—dāna to sages and receiving āśīrvāda (thematic internal parallel)
Anuṣṭup (śloka)
Joyful
Gentle uplift on 'moditaḥ' and a concluding cadence on 'āśiṣaḥ'
Dharma is the sacred reciprocity between giver and worthy recipient: generous giving (especially of cows) is met with blessings that sustain social and spiritual order.
A great sage accepts Rāma’s gift of many cows and responds with auspicious benedictions for Rāma’s well-being and honor.
Rāma’s dhārmic generosity and the sage’s graciousness in acknowledging the gift through blessings.
