सुखम्। १ शन्तातिः। सुखम्। पथ्यापङ्क्तिः। शं नो॒ वातो॑ वातु॒ शं न॑स्तपतु॒ सूर्यः॑ । अहा॑नि॒ शं भ॑वन्तु नः॒ शं रात्री॒ प्रति॑ धीयतां॒ शमु॒षा नो॒ व्युऽच्छतु
śáṃ no vā́to vātu śáṃ nas tapatu sū́ryaḥ | áhāni śáṃ bhavantu naḥ śáṃ rā́trīḥ práti dhīyatāṃ śám uṣā́ no ví ucchatu
Blow for our weal, O Wind; for our weal let the Sun give warmth. For us let the days be welfare; let welfare be set over against the nights; for us let Dawn break forth in welfare.
ขอให้ลมพัดมาเพื่อความผาสุกของเรา; ขอให้สุริยะให้ความอบอุ่นเพื่อความผาสุกของเรา. ขอให้วันทั้งหลายเป็นสิริมงคลแก่เรา; ขอให้สิริมงคลถูกตั้งไว้เผชิญหน้ากับราตรีทั้งหลาย; ขอให้อรุณรุ่งของเราแตกออกในสิริมงคล.
