Sukta 8.69
इन्द्राय गाव आशिरं दुदुह्रे वज्रिणे मधु । यत्सीमुपह्वरे विदत् ॥
índrāya gā́va āśíraṃ dudúhre vájriṇe mádhu | yát sīm upahvaré vidát ||
Soma pressing and offering: ‘milk-mixture’ (āśira) and madhu as soma-delight offered to Indra
Knowledge-as-finding (√vid), Delight (ānanda/madhu) as fruit of illumination
Discovery (vid) restores right order by bringing concealed light into operative consciousness.
Knowledge is truth-found, not fabricated; it is ‘milked’ from the real rays.
Hidden essence becomes manifest as honeyed power—ananda feeding illumination.
Aurobindonian: ananda and illumination are paired; subconscious is a field to be illumined, not rejected.
Milk/honey = distilled delight of realization; hollow = subconscient pocket; cows = knowledge-rays that yield their essence when rightly approached.
Enter the ‘near hollow’: observe a recurring habit/fear; chant and feel a downward-searching light that discovers a sweet truth beneath the pattern.
Svādhiṣṭhāna (subconscious/vital waters) integrated upward to Ājñā
Slow exhale-lengthening (e.g., inhale 4, exhale 8) while visualizing honeyed light filling the lower abdomen/pelvis then rising to the brow.
From obscured impulse to illumined enjoyment (ananda) and decisive clarity.
After 9 chants, sit 3 minutes: name the ‘recess’ issue, then wait for a simple, sweet, actionable insight; act on one small step (vajra in life).
Not provided; emphasize a firm rise on ‘indrāya’ and ‘vajriṇe’, and a resolving fall on ‘vidat’.
Keep ‘gāva āśiraṃ’ flowing; mark long vowels: indrāya, vajriṇe, madhu.
(āśiram): long ā, soft ś, (duduhre): aspirated ‘h’ clear, not ‘dudu’, (vajriṇe): ‘jr’ cluster tight, (upahvare): pronounce ‘hv’ distinctly, (sīm): long ī nasalized lightly by m
Penetrating yet sweet; let ‘madhu’ be slightly softened in tone.
