Outer meaning

The tawny pair shine in their journeys like bright-eyed children at a new seat, at a fresh support.

Inner meaning

When the Indra-forces are newly yoked, they appear with the freshness of a reborn capacity—like children with wide, unjaded eyes. The ‘new seat/support’ is the newly established inner poise (a stable base in consciousness). From that base, the twin energies move radiantly in the paths of practice (yāma), carrying the seeker forward without the fatigue of old habit.

Universal truth

Spiritual energy renews itself when grounded in a new inner foundation; right placement (a stable seat) makes movement luminous rather than restless.

Themes

steed-praise, renewal, journey symbolism, beauty/splendor

Other hymns
RV 4.32.22, RV 4.32.24, RV 4.26, RV 4.27

Family tradition

Mandala 4’s Vāmadeva hymns often show the ‘making-new’ of powers through right yoking to Indra’s illumination.

Significance

The rishi presents a practical psychology: establish a new inner seat, then let the energies run; otherwise force becomes old, blind habit.
