Sukta 2.2
तमुक्षमाणं रजसि स्व आ दमे चन्द्रमिव सुरुचं ह्वार आ दधुः । पृश्न्याः पतरं चितयन्तमक्षभिः पाथो न पायुं जनसी उभे अनु ॥
tám ukṣámāṇaṃ rájasi svá ā́ dame candrám iva su-rúcaṃ hvāré ā́ dadhuḥ | pṛ́śnyāḥ pátaraṃ citáyantam akṣá-bhiḥ pā́tho ná pāyúṃ jánasī ubhé ánu ||
தன் ரஜஸில் (மத்திய உலகில்)வும் தன் இல்லத்திலும் வலிமையுடன் வளர்பவனை—அவர்கள் வேள்வி-வளாகத்தில் சந்திரனைப் போல, அழகிய ஒளியுடன் நிலைநிறுத்தினர். அவன் தன் கதிர்களால் ப்ருஷ்ணி (சித்திரவண்ணத் தாய்)யின் சிறகுகளை விழிப்புறச் செய்கிறான்; பாதையின் காவலன் போல, இரு பிறப்புகள்—த்யௌவும் ப்ருதிவியும்—அவற்றைத் தொடர்ந்து சென்று, பயணப் பாதையின் வழிச்செலுத்தலைக் காக்கிறான்.
