Sukta 10.76
तदु श्रेष्ठं सवनं सुनोतनात्यो न हस्तयतो अद्रिः सोतरि । विदद्ध्यर्यो अभिभूति पौंस्यं महो राये चित्तरुते यदर्वतः ॥
tád u śréṣṭhaṃ sávanaṃ sunotanā́tyo na hástayato ádriḥ sótari | vidád dhy àryó abhíbhūti paúṃsyaṃ mahó rāyé cit tarute yád árvataḥ ||
அந்த மிகச் சிறந்த சவனத்தை (சோமப் பிழிதலை) பிழியுங்கள்; கையில் பிடித்த குதிரைபோல், ஓ சோத்ரி (பிழிப்பவன்), அத்ரி (சோமக் கல்) அதை முன்னே செலுத்தட்டும். ஏனெனில் ஆர்யன் (உயர்ந்தவன்) வெல்லும் ஆண்மையை அடைகிறான்; தூண்டுதல்/யோகம் (யத்-அர்வதঃ) முறையாக இணைக்கப்பட்டால், அவன் பெரும் செல்வத்தையும் தாண்டுகிறான்—அவ்வாறே நமது சவனம், வெறும் உடைமையைத் தாண்டிய உச்ச வலிமையை வெளிப்படுத்தட்டும்.
